Denver may be getting quarterback Drew Lock back from injury, but they are still going to be without multiple key pieces on the defensive side of the ball, including Von Miller and Jurell Casey. This sets them up for a bad day against one of the best rushing offenses in the NFL in the Patriots. New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins

Sunday 10/18 – 04:05 PM Next game up is the divisional clash between the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins. While this game may seem like one of the most boring games you could watch this weekend, it is still an easy pick. The Jets will be without starting quarterback Sam Darnold due to injury which means that veteran Joe Flacco will be the starter for another week. To make their offense even worse, they released star running back Le’Veon Bell after failing to find a trade partner for him. This leaves their offense with a bad offensive line, a 37-year-old running back and a weak wide receiver core. [box_text]Even against a Miami defense that isn’t among the top units in the league, they are definitely going to struggle to put up points.[/box_text] In Miami’s defense though, they were able to hold the San Francisco 49ers to just 17 points in their last game, forcing Jimmy Garoppolo to throw two interception and a very poor quarterback rating. The Dolphins are improving rapidly on both sides of the ball, which is a bad sign for the Jets. To make this even better, Miami dropped 43 points on the 49ers in their last game with veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick controlling the offense. They had efficiency, urgency and power on every drive that they took offensively. That should carry over into this matchup which will lead to the Dolphins killing the Jets in this game. However, some games may prove to be completely unpredictable, but I don’t think this is one of those games.

Los Angeles Rams against the San Francisco 49ers

Sunday 10/18 – 08:20 PM Another surprising game on this list is the Los Angeles Rams against the San Francisco 49ers. On paper, it looks like this is going to be a high intensity matchup between two powerhouses in the NFC. But that is just not the case for this game. The Rams have played at such a high level this season that it is getting comparisons to how they played during their Super Bowl run a few years ago. Their offense has been able to get both the passing game and the rushing game going so far. Quarterback Jared Goff looks very comfortable firing away to his receivers in the pocket and to make this defense even harder to stop, they have formed a three-back committee at the running back position. Darrell Henderson, Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown have all received their fair share of touches in the offense, meaning each of them will remain fresh throughout the game. The 49er defense will have a ton of trouble stopping them at all in this matchup, especially after they allowed Fitzpatrick to score 43 on them a week earlier. This defense is not terrible though, they are just riddled with injuries at every position which makes it difficult for them to stop many opponents. They simple don’t have enough time to practice together and form chemistry with all the different players coming in and out. They will be without Nick Bosa, Richard Sherman and Solomon Thomas just to name a few. The Rams will take advantage of that and are primed to put up a lot of points. On the other side of the ball, superstar Aaron Donald and the rest of the Rams defense were able to rack up eight sacks in their last game against the Washington Football Team. They have also gotten great play out of their high paid cornerback Jalen Ramsey. They should make life really difficult for Garoppolo and the 49er offense, who has been struggling all year long. Garoppolo was even benched for his terrible performance last game and it made some wonder whether or not he was fully ready to return from his ankle injury yet. [box_text]If he does get the start again this week, they will have to be much more prepared to face off against a great pass rush and secondary and unfortunately for them, they will also be missing starting tackle Trent Williams which is a huge loss in the offensive line.[/box_text] His absence should cause the Rams defensive line to feast on Sunday and could be another huge factor in this game. Despite the odds being really closely matched, the Rams should be heavy favorites in this matchup this week and should win handily in this divisional clash.
