NFL Picks Week 10 – Where to Bet

[fcrp_feat_sc sc_id=”451″]

Cleveland at Baltimore

For all the preseason talk about the AFC North being a two-team race between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals, if the playoffs started today, the Baltimore Ravens would be the division champions. Their defense is far from what it was in the early 2000's. However they still entered Sunday's game against Pittsburgh allowing a league-low 3.9 explosive plays per game. This is defined as runs covering at least 10 yards and passes covering at least 20. In their win against Pittsburgh, they held the Steelers offense to less than 280 total yards of offense, including less than 40 yards on the ground. That doesn't bode well for Cleveland, as their running game is the strength of their offense. Pick: Baltimore.

Minnesota at Washington

How the mighty have fallen. After starting the season with a 5-0 record, the Minnesota Vikings have lost three straight games, and have been outscored by a 63-36 in said games. After looking like they'd run away with the NFC North, Minnesota now holds only a half-game lead over Detroit, and a onNFL Picks Week 11e game lead over Green Bay. They travel to Washington, taking on a Redskins team that blew two almost certain wins in their last two games. Pick: Washington.

Houston at Jacksonville

For an offense that was supposed to as potent as any, featuring a bevy of young playmakers at nearly every skill position, the Jaguars have been struggling on that side of the football all season. In five of their eight games this season, they've failed to score 20 points. They're 26th in the NFL in running the football. Wide receivers Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns had a combined 24 touchdowns last season; they're on pace for a grand total of 12 this year. It just feels like a matter of time before Jacksonville cleans house with their coaching staff, yet again. Pick: Houston.

Kansas City at Carolina

With all the focus around the fantastic game between the Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos, the Kansas City Chiefs quietly remain a contender for the AFC West title. Sitting at 6-2, they're undefeated at home this season, and are tied for 3rd place in highest point differential in the AFC. Most importantly, they're still 2-0 in divisional games. This is a big road trip for them, if they want to keep pace in their division. Pick: Kansas City

Denver at New Orleans

If it weren't for the superb play of running back Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott in Dallas, wide receiver Michael Thomas of the New Orleans Saints would be the front-runner for the offensive rookie of the year award. He leads the Saints receivers in receptions and plays of 20+ yards, and is tied for the lead in touchdown receptions (five). He's on pace for 94 receptions, over 1140 yards, and 10 touchdowns this year. If the Broncos play another game without cornerback Aqib Talib on Sunday, their pass defense could be vulnerable against the youth-movement the Saints have at wide receiver. Pick: New Orleans

Los Angeles vs. NY Jets

After all these years of supposedly “building” a contending team, Vegas has the Rams as basically being equal with the Jets. After going 3-1 through their first four games, Rams have regressed back to their standard Jeff Fisher-esque mean. The Rams losing three of their last four games to put them at 3-5 through eight games. Fisher famously said that he was fed up with being a 7-9 team, during this past season of HBO's “Hard Knocks.” Well, his team is now on pace for a 6-10 record. The Rams offense has scored more than 20 points in only 2 of 8 games this season, and scored 13 or less points in five of eight games this year. The secondary of the New York Jets is one of their biggest weaknesses, but the Rams simply lack the firepower to exploit this weakness. Pick: NY Jets. [fcrp_feat_sc sc_id=”451″]

Atlanta at Philadelphia

In the month of October alone (constituting five games), Julio Jones had 671 yards receiving. In other words, if you removed all his stats from September and last week against Tampa Bay, he'd still rank #7 in receiving yards, ahead of Odell Beckham, Marvin Jones, and Jarvis Landry. He's on pace for 1,724 yards receiving (on only about 91 catches), averaging a ridiculous 19 yards per catch. In a season where Odell Beckham Jr. started the season a bit slowly, and Antonio Brown hasn't put up the same gaudy numbers, Jones has emerged as the clear cut “best receiver in the NFL.” The Eagles, and their sixth-ranked passing defense, are in for a major test this weekend. Pick: Atlanta

Green Bay at Tennessee

As incredible as it might seem, especially given that he's led his team to seven-straight playoff appearances, it might officially be time to start the “Mike McCarthy hot seat watch.” The comments made by Aaron Rodgers, about the Green Bay Packers playing without any energy and enthusiasm in last Sunday's loss against Indianapolis, were a damning indictment on the team's leadership. The Packers are presently 9th in the NFC, and third in the NFC North. For context, they're only two games ahead of the Chicago Bears. If they were to miss the postseason this year, even after their playoff streak, it will be very interesting to see what happens to McCarthy. Pick: Green Bay.

Chicago at Tampa Bay

So much for home-field advantage. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 3-17 at home since the start of the 2014 season, which is the worst mark in the NFL over that stretch of time. All three of their wins this season came on the road, and in their four home games this season, they're giving up over 34 points per game. They'll be playing against a Chicago Bears team that looks to be a bit rejuvenated with the return of Jay Cutler. Plus a defense that's still improving, slowly but surely.

Pick: Chicago.

Miami at San Diego I think it's safe to say that Chargers running back Melvin Gordon had himself a day last Sunday. In San Diego's win over Tennessee, he finished with 196 yards and a touchdown rushing (on 32 attempts), and added another 65 yards on four receptions (giving him 261 total yards on the day). After not finding the endzone at any point during his rookie season in 2015, he's put up 11 combined touchdowns in nine games this season. He's presently third in the NFL in rushing yards (768), only behind Ezekiel Elliott and Demarco Murray. Pick: San Diego

San Francisco at Arizona

After yielding 38 points to the Saints, the 49ers have now allowed 33 or more points in six of their eight games. They're on pace to give up 520 points this season, which would be the second-most in NFL history. For all the problems this team has on offense (and there are plenty), the defense isn't far behind. There's good reason why Chip Kelly had to address rumors that he might be headed back to the college game after this season. Pick: Arizona.

Dallas at Pittsburgh

Here's the fascinating thing about Cowboys rookie running back sensation Ezekiel Elliott: it's entirely possible that he might not hit the infamous “rookie wall” in the foreseeable future. When he was at Ohio State University, he ran the ball 273 times for 1,878 yards and 28 touchdowns in 2014. 289 times for 1,821 yards and 27 touchdowns in 2015. So, he's clearly fine with an extensive workload over the course of the season. But, he's on pace for 354 carries this year, so the question might actually be how much Elliott will have left for the Cowboys increasingly-probable playoff appearance. Pick: Dallas.

Seattle vs. New England

The Seahawks present the Patriots toughest test for the remainder of this season, and New England gets to host Seattle in Foxborough. After that, New England only has two more opponents with winning records on its schedule. It's entirely possible that they could “run the table” of games left on their schedule after the return of Tom Brady. Pick: New England.

Cincinnati at NY Giants

He tends to get lost in the conversation of “best wide receivers in the NFL” because he's not as flashy or showy. However, A.J. Green of the Cincinnati Bengals has been absolutely fantastic this season. He currently leads the NFL in receptions and receiving yards per game. He's third in targets, third in catches going for a first down, and fourth in receptions going for 20+ yards. ProFootballFocus has him ranked as the #2 wide receiver in the NFL, only behind Julio Jones. [fcrp_feat_sc sc_id=”451″] Pick: Cincinnati. That's it for week NFL picks week 10 and previews.
