- Todd Bowles is favored as the next NFL Head Coach to be fired
- With a record of 3-9, can Bowles do enough to save his job this season?
- Could another coach find themselves on the chopping block first?
With the Packers' firing of head coach Mike McCarthy this week, the betting world is asking who will be shown the door next.
New York Jets' head coach Todd Bowles looks to be one online sports betting site's favorite, but is he the best bet?

Could Bowles' Time Be Up?
This being his fourth season with the team, Todd Bowles has done little to improve Gang Green.
Bowles was hired in the 2015 season and led the Jets to a 10-6 record. However, that was followed up with back-to-back 5-11 seasons in 2016 and 2017.
At 3-9 and with only four games remaining in the 2018 season, he's already locked in another losing year.
At 3-9 and with only four games remaining in the 2018 season, he's already locked in another losing year. With an upcoming road date in Buffalo, followed by home games against the Texans and Packers, and a regular season finale in New England, it's quite possible the Jets fail to win another game.
I know it’s painful #Jets fans. It’s just very awful. But in the long run, the loss means you’re one step closer to Nick Bosa or another truly terrific prospect. And a new HC who will hopefully get a better fate and hand dealt by the football gods than Todd Bowles.

Which Other Coaches Should Be Worried?
Any one of these men should have cause for concern the next time they get called to the GM's office.
Marvin Lewis has never won a playoff game in Cincy and the Bengals have lost six of their last seven. Yes, some key offensive injuries have played a part. But their 371 points allowed are also a league-worst.
Lewis still has another year on his contact, although 2019 is a team option. Many would've thought Lewis should've been shown the door years ago, yet he received an extension after last season.
If management finally pulls the plug after all this time, it likely won't come til after the season.
Bill Belichick (19 seasons) is the longest-tenured NFL head coach. Behind him? Well, one was fired today.

Could it be one and done for Cardinals' coach Steve Wilks? Wilks has struggled in his first season in Arizona at 3-9, though surely growing pains were to be expected while breaking in a new rookie QB.
The Cards have at least been competitive at 6-5-1 ATS, and pulled off a huge upset of the Green Bay Packers last week as double-digit dogs. This could be enough to see him save his job for the time being.
Would you still want Steve Wilks to be fired if the #AZCardinals had three more wins? @WritingMoore says we shouldn't rush to judge the first-year head coach: https://t.co/i6Sa1nNX56

Wilks wasn't alone in buying goodwill with a Week 13 win. Dirk Koetter (Tampa Bay), Adam Gase (Miami) and Vance Joseph (Denver) were all victorious last week.
Each of these teams are all very much still in the hunt for a Wild Card spot in the playoffs, so should remain status quo for the time being. In the case of the Panthers and Ron Rivera, they also remain in the hunt at 6-6 despite four straight losses.

Who Gets Fired Next?
In addition to the betting options in the earlier chart, if you shop around you'll be able to find odds on a few other coaches to be fired as well. Over at Bovada, you can find Ravens' coach John Harbaugh as the favorite with odds of +260.
The Jets' current structure seems to be flawed. Neither Bowles or General Manager Mike Maccagnan report to each other. Both report directly to ownership and both have different views on how to shape the roster.
A shotgun marriage, flawed reporting structure & passive-aggressive petulance.

Bowles could be an expensive man to replace, considering he signed a two-year contact extension through 2020 in December of 2017.
However, it may make the most sense to cut ties with Bowles and allow Maccagnan (also extended contractually through 2020) to pick his own man for 2019. With a sixth-straight loss last week and no end in sight Bowles looks like the best bet.
Best Bet: Todd Bowles +150
