NFL Week 11 Review: 49ers Back on Track, Ravens Roll
In Week 10, the Seattle Seahawks handed the San Francisco 49ers their first loss of the season. The Niners followed up the loss with an okay performance against the Arizona Cardinals. Many felt both games had opened the flood gates. San Francisco befuddled the naysayers, though, by trouncing the Green Bay Packers 37-8 on Sunday night.
The win impressed for a few reasons. First, San Francisco’s defense held Aaron Rodgers to a 20-of-33 night. Rodgers threw for 104 yards and only a single touchdown. Second, San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo completed 14-of-20 for 253 yards and 2 touchdowns. The 49ers’ defense allowed Green Bay into the red zone twice. The Packers converted one of the red zone trips into a touchdown.
The Green Bay game left no doubt that San Francisco is the class of the NFC, right? Maybe, not. Although they impressed against the Packers, let’s not go crazy just yet. The same Packers squad lost at home to Philadelphia and on the road to the Chargers.
More importantly, San Francisco faces a make or break for homefield in the next couple of weeks. The Ravens host the 49ers in Week 13 while the Saints host San Francisco in Week 14.
Baltimore, especially, should be difficult to beat. The Ravens made it 5 in a row SU and ATS with a blistering 45-6 road beat down of the L.A. Rams. Baltimore offers SF 4 ½ points in Week 13. That’s the respect
oddsmakers have for Lamar Jackson and company.
Below, we provide prediction for Ravens-49ers along with every other game in NFL Week 13!
NFL Week 13 Picks
Thursday, Nov. 28
Chicago Bears -3 vs Detroit Lions
Neither team has impressed in recent weeks. Take the points on the Lions because, hey, it’s Turkey Day and Detroit plays better on Turkey Day.
NFL Prediction: Detroit Lions
Buffalo Bills vs Dallas Cowboys -6 ½
Dallas faces a tough matchup on Thanksgiving. The Bills are on a roll against the spread. They’re 3-0-1 in their last 4 games. The Cowboys battled the Pats in Foxboro in Week 12. That might have taken something out of them. Back the Bills.
NFL Prediction: Buffalo Bills
New Orleans Saints -7 vs Atlanta Falcons
Will the Saints exact revenge on the Falcons for the loss they suffered in Week 10? Probably. Will they do so by more than 7 points? Not likely.
NFL Prediction: Atlanta Falcons
Sunday, Dec. 1
New York Jets -3 ½ vs Cincinnati Bengals
The Jets are crushing it. J-E-T-S has scored 34 points in 3 straight. The Bengals allow 417.3 yards per, worst in the NFL. NYJ gets another win and cover.
NFL Prediction: New York Jets
Tennessee Titans vs Indianapolis Colts -2 ½
The Colts shouldn’t be favored in this matchup. Consider
the moneyline on a Tennessee squad that has won 2 in a row and is 3-1 SU and ATS in their last 4.
NFL Prediction: Tennessee Titans
Philadelphia Eagles -9 vs Miami Dolphins
What’s up with the Eagles’ offense? It’s scored a combined 19 points in the last couple of games. Miami can cover.
NFL Prediction: Miami Dolphins
Green Bay Packers -6 ½ vs New York Giants
The Packers looked terrible against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12. They should bounce back with a win but the Giants won’t make it easy. The Packers face Saquon Barkley. Not good news because the Pack allows 126.5 rushing yards per game.
NFL Prediction: New York Giants
Cleveland Browns -2 vs Pittsburgh Steelers
Cleveland took their streak to 3 games after dominating the Miami Dolphins. The Steelers are 3-of-4 SU and ATS. Pittsburgh’s lone loss happened versus the Browns a couple of weeks ago. Which team covers in the rematch? Take the points. The Fins flattered Cleveland’s offense in Week 12. Pittsburgh won’t.
NFL Prediction: Pittsburgh Steelers
Washington Redskins vs Carolina Panthers -10
Washington won’t stop Christian McCaffrey. D.C. allows an unreal 137.6 rushing yards per. McCaffrey will have a monster day while the Panthers cover.
NFL Prediction: Carolina Panthers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Jacksonville Jaguars -1
Tampa Bay’s offense is better than Jacksonville’s. The Buc’s defense is better as well.
NFL Prediction: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
San Francisco 49ers vs Baltimore Ravens -4 ½
Most NFL handicappers want the points in the huge matchup between the 49ers and Ravens. Not so. Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson is impossible to game plan against. If the Patriots couldn’t stop the Ravens, San Francisco won’t. Another win and cover for the Edgar Allan Poes.
NFL Prediction: Baltimore Ravens
L.A. Rams -4 vs Arizona Cardinals
Arizona should be favored to win this game. The Cardinals will move the football while the Rams’ offensive line is a mess. Go Cards.
NFL Prediction: Arizona Cardinals
L.A. Chargers -2 ½ vs Denver Broncos
The Chargers head to Denver off a bye. During the bye, they should have made some tweaks to the offense. That will be enough for a win and cover in Week 13.
NFL Prediction: L.A. Chargers
Oakland Raiders vs Kansas City Chiefs -9 ½
The Chiefs are the better team. But, KC’s defense allows 268.5 passing yards and 25.8 points per game. The Raiders cover.
NFL Prediction: Oakland Raiders
New England Patriots -3 vs Houston Texans
New England faces another quarterback with wheels. Deshaun Watson can run almost as well as Lamar Jackson. Look for the Texans to not only cover but upset the Pats on the moneyline.
NFL Prediction: Houston Texans
Monday, Dec. 2
Minnesota Vikings vs Seattle Seahawks -3
Seattle is 3-0 SU and ATS in their last 3 games. Minnesota averages 142.5 rushing yards per, though. Because the Seahawks must sell out to stop the rush in this, Vikings’ quarterback Kirk Cousins can have a monster day. Although the Vikings might not win, they should cover.
NFL Prediction: Minnesota Vikings
