Los Angeles Rams @ New York Giants
Admittedly, I was starting to have some faith in the Giants after their overtime win in New Orleans, but after last week that faith is beginning to disappear.
Not all of it is because of poor play on the field though, injuries have completely decimated a strong roster.
On just their offense, they have Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley, Kenny Golladay, Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard all on the injury report ahead of this date with the Rams. Leaving guys like Mike Glennon to pick up all that slack and lead them to a win over one of the toughest defenses in the league that boasts Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey.
Defensively, the Giants don’t stand a chance because they are out on the field for basically the entire game with their offense struggling to score points.
Los Angeles is 4-1 on the year and have been dominating behind the stellar play of their new quarterback, Matthew Stafford.
Stafford has a ton of offensive weapons coupled with those incredible defensive players we mentioned earlier.
They are arguably the most well-rounded team in the league at the moment and are strong Super Bowl contenders while the Giants aren’t even expected to make the playoffs.
Maybe if New York can get some players back onto the field from their injuries this game will end up being close, but until that time comes this will be a blowout for the Rams.
Pick: Los Angeles Rams
Arizona Cardinals @ Cleveland Browns
Now this game isn’t going to be an easy one to bet on this weekend but without a doubt it will be considered the best game of Week 6.
Many believe that Kyler Murray is the early candidate for the MVP award that gets handed out at the end of the season and I agree.
He has been making it look easy out there with weapons like DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green, Rondale Moore and Christian Kirk in the pass game. James Connor also gives them some type of balance in the run game.
Defensively, they have sneakily been one of the better groups in the league behind a star-studded pass rush and the surprising leap that Byron Murphy took in his development.
They should be able to put up quite a bit of points in this game, but the Browns are one of the few teams that will be able to keep up with them.
They just dropped 42 points and 500 plus total yards of offense without a turnover and somehow lost to the Los Angeles Chargers last week.
Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt continue to prove that they are arguably the best backfield in the league.
Baker Mayfield has also kept up his solid quarterback play despite having some serious shoulder issues that he is playing through.
Defensively they have some questions to answer with Denzel Ward possibly being held out as well as Jadeveon Clowney.
At least Myles Garrett is still amped up and ready to go for another game.
If Cleveland wants to win this game though, this passing attack will need to be on point again.
Don’t get me wrong though, Mayfield and company have been just fine in recent weeks, but it hasn’t been enough.
Odell Beckham Jr was supposed to make up for the loss that Jarvis Landry left behind once he was injured but it hasn’t happened.
Donovan Peoples Jones and David Njoku had big games last week while Odell had two catches for 20 yards.
In a shootout against a pass first team, Mayfield has to get his superstar wide receiver the football early and often. I love both of these teams' offenses, but I am going to take the Cardinals in this game.
Pick: Arizona Cardinals
Buffalo Bills @ Tennessee Titans
It may look like one of the best games of the week but it won’t take long to pick out who is expected to win this game.
Not only did they beat them but they flat out dominated them the whole night.
Josh Allen looked unstoppable once again and their defense forced a couple of turnovers including a pick six by Micah Hyde.
It’s hard to lose games when you have an offense that averages 40 points a game and a defense that is statistically the best in the league when it comes to limiting their opponents' total yards.
The Titans are one of the few teams that could penetrate this defense but they don’t have anywhere near the firepower to stop Allen and company offensively. Ryan Tannehill and this Titans squad will have to put up a boatload of points in order to win this game.
Luckily for them, they have Derrick Henry, A.J. Brown and Julio Jones at their disposal in order to make that happen.
Their biggest problem outside of, well, their entire defense, has been their offensive line.
Tannehill barely has any time in the pocket to wait and deliver accurate passes to his playmakers.
That has seriously damaged the production of their two star wideouts.
Thankfully it hasn’t impacted Henry’s rushing stats, as he remains the best back in the league with seven touchdowns already.
Allen just hasn’t even been slowed down since that first loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and their defense seems to have taken a massive step forward overall.
The Titans can’t say the same as their defense consistently allows big performances to opposing teams, with the Jacksonville Jaguars even putting up a lot of rushing yards against them last weekend.
Pick: Buffalo Bills
