The 7-3 Houston Texans haven’t tasted defeat since Week 3. Currently riding a seven-game win streak, the Texans will look to pad their lead atop the AFC South and bury deeper the 5-5 Tennessee Titans in a rematch on Monday Night Football.

The Titans are +750 to come out on top of the AFC South by the end of the regular season, while the Houston Texans are -450 to win the division.

Betting on the Tennessee Titans (5-5)

First of all, the Titans needs to know whether Marcus Mariota will be able to give it a go this in Week 12. The former Heisman Trophy winner out of the Oregon Ducks program hurt his elbow and was force out of Week 11’s gut-punch of a 38-10 road loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Backup Blaine Gabbert stepped in for Mariota in that game and proceeded to throw a touchdown and an interception on 11-of-16 completions. While most Titans fans would find it hard to trust Gabbert, they should be reminded that Gabbert was under center when Tennessee beat Houston back in Week 2 at home, 20-17. Gabbert went 13-of-20 for 117 passing yards and a touchdown with no errors in that game in lieu of Mariota who was then sidelined by an elbow injury. If Gabbert starts, though, the Titans will give their ground attack a heavier workload. The Titans are already second in the NFL with a 49.01 rushing play percentage, but are only 15th in rushing yards per game with 111.7.

The under is 3-1 in the Titans’ last four road games.

Betting on the Houston Texans (7-3)

The Houston team that the Titans are going to face this coming Monday is multi-folds better than the one they beat in Week 2. For one, today’s version of the Texans have a reservoir full of confidence, thanks to a seven-game win streak they attained after beating the Washington Redskins on the road in Week 11, 23-21. Defense keyed the Texans win over Washington, as they recorded two picks and five sacks while holding the Redskins to only 278 total yards. The Texans are sixth in the NFL in scoring defense with 20.5 points allowed per game, seventh in total defense with 330.5 total yards surrendered per contest, and fourth in yards given up per play with 5.0. On offense, Houston needs to cut down on its turnovers to prevent its defense’s effort from going to waste. The Texans had three giveaways in the Washington game, thus losing the turnover battle. In the first meeting with Tennessee they had one, an interception thrown by quarterback Deshaun Watson.

The Texans are 7-0 SU and 4-3 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Writer’s Prediction

Tennessee wins, 24-21.
