The NFL playoffs are whittling down as we enter the divisional round. The sportsbook has set the odds on the four weekend games, favoring the Chiefs (-5) over the Colts, the Rams (-7) over the Cowboys, the Patriots (-4) over the Chargers, and the Saints (-8) over the Eagles. But one thing that this season has taught us is that anything can happen which is why it's time to weigh in to see if the odds align with the predictions below.

Picks and Predictions for the NFL Divisional Round Weekend Games for the 2018-19 Season Playoffs

Indianapolis Colts (+5) vs Kansas City Chiefs (-5): Saturday Jan 12 (4:35 PM EST)

The Colts have Andrew Luck and arguably the best offensive line in the league. The Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes, who’s a good bet to win the NFL MVP this season. They also have the most electrifying offense in the league and the deadliest pass rush. And oh, by the way, the Chiefs have the home-field advantage. Mahomes, however, hasn’t been tested yet in the playoffs, while Luck has a fair share of postseason experience. The Colts’ defense should be confident after taming limiting the Houston Texans to only seven points in the wild-card round.

Prediction: Colts win, 27-23.

Dallas Cowboys (+7) vs Los Angeles Rams (-7): Saturday Jan 12 (8:15 PM EST)

The Cowboys’ dream of ending their Super Bowl drought is still very much alive, but for them to keep that hope burning, they will have to put up a monumental effort this coming weekend because the Rams are not a joke. You know what’s also not a joke? Why, the trio of Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, and Amari Cooper. Well, the Rams also have Jared Goff and Todd Gurley, but the running back remains a question mark for that game because of a knee issue.  If anything, the Rams have C.J. Anderson, who’s done an admirable job filling in for Gurley during the tail end of the regular season.

Prediction: Rams win, 28-24.

Los Angeles Chargers (+4) vs New England Patriots (-4): Sunday Jan 13 (1:05 PM EST)

Philip Rivers’ window to win the Super Bowl is still open, but this matchup feels like it’s going to define his legacy. He hasn’t beaten Tom Brady in the playoffs, but the Chargers seem to have the tools to take down New England in Foxboro. With Joey Bosa back, Los Angeles are well-equipped to rattle Brady in the pocket. And the Chargers are also 7-1 SU on the road this season. The thing is, New England is undefeated at home this season. It’s 8-0 SU in Foxboro in the regular season. The last time the Pats lost at home was way back in October of 2017.

Prediction: Patriots win, 27-21.

Philadelphia Eagles (+8) vs New Orleans Saints (-8): Sunday Jan 13 (4:40 PM EST)

Nick Foles deserve a bronze statue placed side by side with Rocky in Philadelphia with the way he’s been playing under center for the Eagles. The defending Super Bowl champions are 4-0 SU since Foles took over the starting gig in Week 15 due to Carson Wentz’s injury.

That includes their upset win over the Chicago Bears on the road in the wild-card round. The Saints are a different animal, one who beat the Eagles in Week 11, 48-7, but that was also when Foles didn’t see any action. In any case, beating the Saints on the road is a very tall task for Foles and the Eagles.

Prediction: Saints win, 37-23.
