Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (11-3)
One thing is certain about the Chiefs: they could score. However, their defense remains to be an issue for the team. That was made apparent once again in Kansas City’s 29-28 home loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15. In any case, the Chiefs will count on their offense to make up for their porous defense, a reality that, at this point of the season, they have likely fully embraced. While they are still likely to make the playoffs, playing with that kind of sloppy brand of football would get them embarrassed in the postseason. The good thing for the Seahawks – at least for now – is that the Chiefs don’t usually bring it on defense, so Russell Wilson and company will have to capitalize on Kansas City’s weak stop unit. Against the 49ers, Wilson went 23-of-31 for 237 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions. Meanwhile, running back Chris Carson made plenty of things happen on the ground, as he finished with 119 rushing yards and a touchdown. Wilson and opt to rush the ball more together with Carson against the Chiefs, whose run defense is only 26th in the league with 126.9 rushing yards per game.
The Seahawks' defense, led by linebacker Bobby Wagner, has been noteworthy for its ability to limit big plays. They rank seventh in the NFL for the fewest yards allowed per game.
Wagner, in particular, has contributed significantly with over 120 total tackles this season, helping to anchor the defense.
The Seahawks are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six home games.
