Betting on the Houston Texans (6-3)
The Texans are on a mild winning-streak, as they have won each of their last two games, beating the Oakland Raiders at home in Week 9, 27-24, before taking down the Jacksonville Jaguars in London in Week 10, 26-3. Deshaun Watson is leading the charge for a Texans team that has increased pressure on its offense following the season-ending injury of JJ Watt and the trade of Jadeveon Clowney to the Seattle Seahawks. Watson had 201 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns on 22-of-28 completions in the Jags game, while Carlos Hyde led the team with 160 rushing yards on 19 carries. Houston is averaging 26.4 points and 396.7 total yards per game, eighth and fourth overall in the NFL, respectively. If this game goes into a shootout with the Ravens, Texans have the weapons to keep up with Lamar Jackson and company.
The Texans are 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last five road games.
Betting on the Baltimore Ravens (7-2)
The Ravens are rolling. They are on a five-game winning streak following their 49-13 decimation of the hapless Cincinnati Bengals on the road last Sunday. The Bengals didn’t stood a chance in stopping the Ravens, Lamar Jacksin in particular. Jackson ripped the Bengals’ defense apart, as he passed for 223 yards and three touchdowns without an interception on just 17 pass attempts. In addition, Jackson rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. It’s scary for Baltimore opponents that Jackson has finally learned how to play in the NFL, and he’s probably not even reached the ceiling of his potential. Containing Jackson will not be an easy task for the Texans, who are missing key pieces on their defensive line that were there at the start of the season. The Ravens lead the league with 33.3 points per game and second with 421.7 total yards per contest.
The Ravens are 7-3 straight up (SU) in their last 10 games at home.
The Ravens win, 29-26.
