Odds taken on Feb. 5.

When the 2019 NFL win totals opened a year ago, the Chiefs had a projection of 10.5. BetOnline has raised that total to 11.5 following Kansas City’s comeback victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 54.

Even with a knee injury to quarterback Patrick Mahomes at the start of the season, the Chiefs were still able to hit 12 wins for the second straight year.

The Baltimore Ravens are next up on BetOnline’s board, coming in with a projected win total of 11 for next season. That’s a huge increase from 2019, when the Ravens were given a projection of 8.5. However, after posting a league-best 14 wins in 2019, it was evident that Baltimore would be among the top teams in total wins.

Other Win Total Projections Worth Betting On

While KC’s projected win total comes as no real shocker, BetOnline’s board does present a few head-turners.

For instance, the Dallas Cowboys have a projected win total of 9 — a mark the team has surpassed just twice over the last five seasons. Can the Cowboys return to their 13-win season from 2016? The Over is paying at -125 while the Under comes in at -105.

The New England Patriots saw a slight decline in total wins from a year ago, opening at 10.5 on Wednesday compared to 11 in 2019. Tom Brady’s future with the Patriots remains unclear as the six-time Super Bowl champion and future Hall of Fame QB is a free agent.

Another team to watch closely are the Los Angeles Rams. This was a team that earned 13 wins two years ago before losing to the Patriots in the Super Bowl. That triggered BetOnline to set a projected win total of 10 in 2019 but the Rams struggled and finished with a 9-7 record. Which L.A. Rams team will show up in 2020? Taking the Over pays out at -140.

Redskins, Dolphins Projected To Have Fewest Wins In 2020

The Washington Redskins had a NFC-worst 3-13 record in 2019, which is why BetOnline has set the team’s projected win total for next season at 5.5. Taking the under will pay out at an intriguing line of +120 and after a dismal season, there’s reason to believe 2020 will be another tough one for the Redskins even with Ron Rivera as head coach.

The same can be said for the Dolphins, who also have a win projection total of 5.5. Miami finished with five wins in 2019 after opening with a projection of 4.5 last year. After the Dolphins exceeded expectations slightly this season, the club could very well do so again with an Over price of -150.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, who lost starting QB Ben Roethlisberger to a season-ending elbow injury, have a win total projection of 9.  That is a slight decrease from their projected mark of 9.5 from last season. However, the Steelers are one of a handful of struggling teams that could have a complete turnaround in 2020.

This is a Steelers team that dominated the AFC North with a 13-3 record in 2017 and while that win total may seem out of reach, Pittsburgh will be gunning for 11 or 12 next season.

The Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints are both coming off 13-win seasons, but BetOnline has their projected totals at 9.5 and 10, respectively. With ageing quarterbacks, taking the under on both of these teams is the safer bet.
