The Tennessee Titans Spending Spree

After making a splash by hiring on Mike Vrabel as their head coach last season, the team also quickly opened their wallets to RB Dion Lewis and DB Malcom Butler.

This time, instead of wheels and rings, they decided to go for beef and hands in the first week of the open market.

For Cameron Wake, this is a very good thing. He’s never been a part of team that’s been a true contender.

Spending the majority of his career having to recover from the turnovers and wasted series of a Ryan Tannehill, Chad Henne, JP Losman, Matt Moore, and even Jay Cutler (among others), Wake welcomes his new home with open arms.

With the potential to bully teams on offense, especially after the addition of OL Roger Saffold, Wake finds himself on a divisional contender for the first time in his career.

He’s also now a member of a defense that looks scary on paper. They finished 10th in the league last year in sacks with 47 and could get better with Wake on board.

2018 36 15 6.0
2017 36 10 10.5
2016 29 7 11.5

Can Wake Beat 7.5 Sacks This season?

As mentioned, not as much pressure will be on Wake as he is now surrounded by a pretty talented bunch on the defensive line.

However, with that said, he’ll now be chasing Andrew Luck, Deshaun Watson, and newly acquired Nick Foles twice this season. He’ll also have his hands full with Patrick Mahomes, Drew Brees, and Baker Mayfield in 2019 so the it won’t be an easy feat.

Throughout his decade of service in the NFL, he’s averaged 9.8 sacks per year, on consistently brutal renditions of the Miami Dolphins. For us, this is not a question of “if”, it’s honestly a question of “when”.
