San Francisco 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals

[su_quote]All signs point towards this game being an absolute blowout for the Arizona Cardinals.[/su_quote] Best Picks for Week 5 NFL - Arizona Cardinals However, it is listed as one of the best games of the week due to the star talent that is spread across each of these rosters. The 49ers are 2-2 on the year and their only two wins have come from the Detroit Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles. I don’t know about you but those aren’t very difficult opponents right now. San Francisco has also allowed their opponents to score 28 or more points in their last two games at home, now they have to travel to a hostile environment against one of the hottest teams in the league. There is also a quarterback controversy about to break loose for this squad. Jimmy Garoppolo went out of the game at halftime last week against the Seattle Seahawks due to an injury and Trey Lance walked into the game. Lance led a couple of scoring drives and closed the gap but still couldn’t pull out the win. Now, Garoppolo is questionable to return this week which could give Lance the keys to the offense for the first official start of his career. Regardless of what quarterback plays in this game, the Cardinals are going to demand their absolute best. Kyler Murray is playing at an MVP caliber level and in my mind, there isn’t anybody close right now. Murray has a boatload of weapons to throw to which makes it easier in DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green, Christian Kirk and Rondale Moore. Couple that with a defense that has an up-and-coming star in Bryon Murphy, JJ Watt and Chandler Jones and this team is one of the most well balanced in the league. Not to mention they are the only undefeated team left. Division games usually end up being pretty close but I think this is going to be a disaster for San Francisco.

New England Patriots @ Houston Texans

[su_quote]I really do feel bad for Houston fans but their team isn’t going to be winning this game.[/su_quote] Best Picks for Week 5 NFL - New England Patriots New England is coming off a close loss at the hands of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and I am sure that Bill Belichick is more fired up than ever to get back into the win column. Belichick has notoriously been dominant against any rookie quarterback that his team faces, and that hasn’t been just this season either. Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, Sam Darnold, Daniel Jones, Tua Tagovailoa and Zach Wilson have scored an average of 9.5 points per game against these guys as rookies. As you can tell, there aren’t any seventh-round players in here, but rather superstar quarterbacks drafted in the first round. Now combine these dominant statistics with the fact that the Texans are one of just three teams in the league to average less than 265 total yards of offense per game. Rookie quarterback Davis Mill shas shown that he could be a viable quarterback in this league but with no weapons around him and a splashed together offensive line it is going to be incredibly difficult to succeed at all. One might wonder how Mac Jones will fare on the other end but he shouldn’t have any issues against this Texans defense. Houston has allowed more than 400 yards per game this season and have lost their last three games by a combined 65 points. [su_panel border=”4px solid #cc0000″ radius=”4″]They can’t stop their opponents and they can’t put points up on the board. This should be the safest pick you can make in Week 5, roll with the Patriots and Belichick.[/su_panel]

New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys

[su_quote]This is going to be an exciting one. The Dallas Cowboys have been playing some of the best football that they have played in years![/su_quote] Best Picks for Week 5 NFL - Dallas Cowboys They are sitting at 3-1 with their only loss coming at the hands of the Buccaneers in the season opener, when they kicked a last second field goal to win the game. Dak Prescott hasn’t even looked like he is just returning from a major ankle injury either. He has been throwing darts down the field to outstanding weapons like Ceedee Lamb, Amari Cooper and now Dalton Shultz. Even Ezekiel Elliott has stepped his game up after a horrible 2020 campaign, though a lot of this can be contributed to the offensive line launching themselves forward over the offseason. According to Pro Football Focus, Dallas has three of the top five highest graded linemen this season, Zack Martin, Tyron Smith and Connor McGovern. Oh, and let’s not forget, Dallas has a defense that is actually good now. Trevon Diggs has five interceptions in just four games this year and is seriously positioning himself to be in the conversation of Defensive Player of the Year. Meanwhile, the Giants haven’t been too bad themselves. Yes, they are 1-3 on the year but a lot of those were just close losses decided by one score. Daniel Jones is playing out of his mind lately. He has severely reduced the number of turnovers he has and his passing ability has skyrocketed. He even leads all NFL players in yards per carry with 6.96. Saquon Barkley has returned to take some pressure off of his back and it’s helped, though their offensive line remains one of the worst groups in football. Kenny Golladay and Sterling Shepard make for a nice receiving duo as well. The only problem has been defense for the Giants, they were a great unit last season but have fallen off. While they have improved as the season has gone on; they are still now anywhere near where they need to be in order to be in playoff contention. I think this division rivalry is always heated and intense, which will make for one of the best games of the week. I also think that the Cowboys will end up finding a way to win this game. Prescott is going to want to prove to the world that this Dallas team is legit.
