Houston Texans @ Buffalo Bills

This one shouldn’t need much explanation. The Texans surprised a lot of people during the first game and a half of the new season but have since fallen back down to Earth. [su_quote]Tyrod Taylor’s injury has completely flattened this offense.[/su_quote] Rookie quarterback Davis Mills has shown poise in the pocket but the accuracy and play calling have seriously held him back from reaching his true potential as a passer. [box_text]Yes, they have a loaded running back room and a solid number one receiver in Brandin Cooks, but Mills simply isn’t getting the job done.[/box_text]

Their defense has also had a couple of nice performances but because their offense is so bad, they are forced to be out on the field way longer than they should be, which has dropped production overall. They go up against a Buffalo team this weekend who just dropped over 40 points on one of the best defenses in all of football right now, the Washington Football Team. Josh Allen looks like he is back to his form from last year is going to tear Houston apart defensively. [su_quote]The only hope that Houston will have at winning this ball game is if Mills can keep up Allen in a shootout, something that he surely won’t be doing given the Bills speedy secondary and elite defensive intelligence.[/su_quote] I would roll with the Bills all day in this one. I don’t see a way that Mills knocks off Allen whatsoever unless he briefly turns into Aaron Rodgers for this matchup. If any of you tuned into the Texans last game against the Panthers, you would know that Mills couldn’t put any type of points onto the board until late in the game. I could even argue that the Bills defense is even better than the Carolina defense. Houston has only scored about 12 points in six quarters under Mills, a stat that could continue and ultimately lose them this game.

Tennessee Titans @ New York Jets

Unfortunately for Jets fans, they are going to wind up on this list every weekend and not for a good reason. [su_quote]They were obliterated yet again last weekend on both sides of the football.[/su_quote] They haven't shown any signs of improvement through the first couple weeks and I am now realizing that their rookie quarterback, Zach Wilson, isn’t the problem whatsoever.

Wilson is being rushed on what feels like 95 percent of his drop backs, which is a recipe for disaster. Their run game is completely stagnant as well due to that lack of an offensive line. Defensively, they have been good in some circumstances but overall, it has been a train wreck of injuries and poor play. They lost Lamarcus Joyner earlier in the year, got Ashton Davis back from injury, then lost Marcus Maye to his own now. Those three are just in the safety room also! They line up with a Titans team that hasn’t been incredible this year but their talent simply can’t be ignored at all. Ryan Tannehill alone could lead his team to a victory but it definitely helps that he has Derrick Henry to lean on. Henry is going to dominate this Jets defensive line and could even go for 200 yards in this contest especially if Tennessee breaks the game open early. Oh, they also have A.J. Brown and Julio Jones in the passing game to stretch them out. [su_quote]Just like the Texans game from earlier, I don’t see any way that the Jets pull one out at home here.[/su_quote] Henry is just too dominant in the run game and the Jets won’t be able to stop him. Even if they slow him down, they have Tannehill and Jones in the passing game to push New York back on their heels even further.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Green Bay Packers

[box_text]This is probably going to be the riskiest pick here in this article but one that should be worth taking.[/box_text] The Steelers looked atrocious the last two weeks. Yes, they upset the Bills in the season opener but what has happened to them since then? Their defense has suffered numerous injuries but their offense could be in contention for one of the worst in the league. Their offensive line has looked horrible and it has caused rookie running back Najee Harris to run into a wall every time he gets a handoff. Ben Roethlisberger is also constantly scrambling out of the pocket due to poor protection, and with his dip in play lately that combination is just waiting for an interception to come around. We saw him throw an ugly one last weekend and it could happen again this week. Their receivers are all suffering from various injuries as well, and nobody really knows where Eric Ebron has been this season. Then you flip over to the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay was in fact stomped on in the season opener against the New Orleans Saints but they have looked like their former's selves in recent weeks. They got a solid win over the Detroit Lions and grabbed a huge statement win over the San Francisco 49ers right after that. [su_quote]Aaron Rodgers looks like he is back into his MVP form, Aaron Jones had himself a four-touchdown game already and Davante Adams is still completely unguardable at the wide receiver position.[/su_quote] Their offensive line has also been far better than I had previously expected due to their losses over the offseason. Defensively, they haven’t been amazing but with a star cornerback in Jaire Alexander I think they are going to be just fine. Pittsburgh has so much talent across their roster that it is always going to be difficult to say they will 100 percent lose the game. However, given their recent loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, one that looked like they gave up halfway through the game, I think it’s safe to say that the Packers have the upper hand already. All momentum is with Green Bay and it will result in a Packers victory at home.
