Early Odds for Super Bowl LV & Betting Predictions
It is, of course much too early to be making bold predictions for Super Bowl LV, especially given that we are just a couple of weeks removed from watching the Kansas City Chiefs hoist the Lombardi Trophy. That said, the NFL season never really truly ends, as there is always news or moves that impact what might happen in the coming season. Free agency is sure to create some waves, as is the NFL draft, with some teams who struggled this season sure to take a step forward when the new one begins. It may still be very early, but the bookies have the odds set for the coming season, so if you are interested in getting your Super Bowl wagers in as early as possible, take a look at the current favorites and their odds.
Kansas City Chiefs (+400)
It is no real surprise that the Kansas City Chiefs are already in as the favorite after winning it all in Miami. In Patrick Mahomes, they have a young QB that looks set to dominate in this league for many years to come. Rather than resting on their laurels, though, the Chiefs know that they still need some upgrades on the defensive side of the football. If they can do that and keep the key players in this team, they are a good bet to win back to back championships.
San Francisco 49ers (+700)
It’s easy to forget that the San Francisco 49ers were just 6 or 7 minutes away from winning the Super Bowl this year, especially now that there seem to be calls to make changes at the QB position. Jimmy Garoppolo seems to be the one that is taking most of the heat for the loss, but that is something that I believe will die down in the coming weeks. The one thing that the 49ers need to be aware of is that we have seen a trend recently where the losers in the Super Bowl miss the playoffs the following season.
Baltimore Ravens (+600)
Given how things went in the regular season, there were a lot of people who believed that the Ravens were a lock to win it al this year. Once again, we saw proof that the playoffs are a whole different ball game, as MVO Lamar Jackson once again struggled in the postseason. History has shown us that QB’s who rely heavily on running the football do not have postseason success. Ids that going to come back to haunt the Baltimore Ravens moving forward?
New Orleans Saints (+900)
We are getting to the teams now who have some questions that need to be answered before we decide to wager on them. The New Orleans Saints are undoubtedly one of the most complete teams in the NFL, but a big part of that package is QB Drew Brees. He has made it clear that he is not completely sure whether he will return or retire. What we do know id that if he does choose to come back, it will be in a Saints uniform.
New England Patriots (+800)
Much like the situation in New Orleans, we are all waiting to see how the QB situation will play out in New England. Tom Brady is out of contract and looking at free agency, with the Chargers and the Raiders both very interested in picking him up. Until Brady decides what he is going to do, I might just hold off on putting money on the New England Patriots.
