Carolina Panthers 2019 NFL Season Win/Loss Total Odds & Prediction

After underachieving in a big way to record a losing record in 2018, all eyes will be on Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers who will be looking to get back to being a winning franchise while extending one of the lesser talked about streaks in recent NFL memory.

Will Newton get back to playing like the league MVP he was back in 2015 when he led the Panthers to a phenomenal 15-1 record and a Super Bowl appearance? Could the former Auburn star, who is now entering his ninth season in the league, improve on the tantalizing, yet, oft-disappointing play we’ve seen thus far?

Will Carolina get back to playing like the defensive juggernaut they’ve mostly been in the Ron Rivera era or will the Panthers come up short against the Super Bowl-hopeful NFC South division rivals?

If you’re an NFL fan and betting enthusiast that wants to know just how many games the Panthers are going to win so you could potentially cash in on the value-packed NFL Win Total Odds, then consider your ticket punched!

Carolina Panthers 2019 NFL Season Win/Loss Total Odds & Prediction

  • 2019 Carolina Panthers Win Total Odds: 7.5
  • 2018 Wins: 7

Week 1 vs. L.A. Rams

The Panthers won’t be favored in this one despite being at home, but I’m going with Cam Newton and company to get the big upset win in their 2019 opener. 1-0.

Week 2 vs. Tampa Bay

I’m thinking the arrival of widely-respected head coach Bruce Arians in Tampa Bay is going to turn things around for the Bucs right away. Still, Carolina gets the big road win in Week 2 as part of a regular season split. 2-0.

Week 3 at Arizona

The Cardinals are going to a lot different looking in 2019 because of the additions of new head coach Kliff Kingsbury and No. 1 overall draft pick Kyler Murray, but the Cards won’t be nearly ready to pull off the upset in this Week 3 meeting, even at home. Win.3-0.

Week 4 at Texas

Carolina suffers their first loss of the season on the road against Deshaun Watson, J.J. Watt and a loaded Texans team that should be focused from the outset in 2019. Loss. 3-1.

Week 5 vs. Jacksonville

Super Bowl-winning veteran quarterback Nick Foles and a healthy Leonard Fournette play big roles in this Week 5 matchup to lead the Jags to the huge road upset. Loss. 3-2.

Week 6 vs. Tampa Bay

Revenge will be the name of this game as Jameis Winston shows some newfound focus and Tampa Bay’s new-look offense puts some points on the board to help the Buccaneers get the super narrow road win. Loss. 3-3.

Week 7 BYE

Week 8 at San Francisco

Now, with Carolina sitting at a modest 3-3 and coming off a bye…I’m thinking the Panthers open up a can on Jimmy G and the rebuilding Niners! Win. 4-3.

Week 9 vs. Tennessee

Marcus Mariota and a Titans team that won nine games last season puts up a real fight in this affair, but I like Carolina to squeak past their AFC counterparts in a real tight affair that looks like a classic field goal finish. Win. 5-3.

Week 10 at Green Bay

The Packers have a new head coach in Matt LaFleur, but I don’t believe Green Bay fully addressed their offseason needs (again). I smell a big road upset in this one for Cam Newton and company. Win 6-3.

Week 11 vs. Atlanta

Carolina got swept by Matt Ryan and the division rival Falcons last season. That’s not happening again. Carolina wins as part of a regular season split. 7-3.

Week 12  at New Orleans

The Panthers split with Drew Brees and the Saints with each team winning on the road a year ago. In 2019, these longtime NFC South rivals split again, but each wins at home. 8-3.

Week 13 vs. Washington

The Redskins got arguably the biggest steal in the draft after watching talented former Ohio State signal-caller Dwayne Haskins fall into their lap after the Giants foolishly passed on him, but the Skins are still being coached by Jay Gruden and he just doesn’t compare to Carolina’s Ron Rivera. Carolina wins. 9-3.

Week 14 at Atlanta

Matt Ryan and the Falcons get some payback for their Week 11 loss. 9-4.

Week 15 vs. Seattle

The Panthers might be playing at home, but I’m expecting Russell Wilson to give Cam Newton a lesson on how to really be a dual-threat quarterback to lead Seattle to the huge road win! 9-5.

Week 16 at Indianapolis

Damn…Newton is going to get another lesson, this time from Indy’s Andrew Luck, on how to really play the position as a dual-threat signal-caller. Carolina fall again. 9-6.

Week 17 vs. New Orleans

The Panthers beat the Saints in New Orleans in Week 17 last year and they’ll win this huge regular season finale, mostly because they’re desperate and playing at home. 10-6.

I’ve got the Panthers winning 10 games, but even if they don’t quite reach that figure, I’m thinking the Panthers are a virtual lock to easily record eight wins to top their 2019 NFL win total odds.

DYK Alert!

Did You Know the Carolina Panthers have recorded alternate winning and losing records for the past six seasons?

Carolina went 7-9 in 2018 to finish tied for second in the NFC South , but they struggled mightily at home in going 2-6 at Bank of America stadium. The Panthers finished the 2018 campaign ranked 10th in total offense and fourth in rushing but just 16th in passing while finishing 14th in scoring (23.5 ppg). Defensively, Carolina finished 15th in total defense, an uninspiring 18th against the pass and 12th against the run while ranking 19th in points allowed (23.9 ppg).

The Panthers drafted Florida State outside linebacker Brian Burns with the 16th overall pick while adding Ole Miss offensive lineman Greg Little in the second round and West Virginia quarterback Will Grier in the third round. Carolina also re-signed veteran safety Eric Reid and added center Matt Paradis, linebacker Bruce Irvin and wide receiver Chris Hogan in free agency.
